CAN I JOIN THIS WEBSITE AND WHY SHOULD I?

You can join if you have ever been a member of the Hillsboro High School, Nashville, Tennessee, Class of 1970, whether or not you graduated with this Class.  Former HHS faculty and staff from this time period are also welcome to join.

There are lots of reasons for you to join but the most important one is so that you can interact with other classmates who will be hanging out here. You will have to be a member and be logged in before you can view and contribute to much of our content - we respect the privacy of our members and want to allow them to communicate and share without finding their comments and photos in other locations around the web

A Message From Robert: One year from today

One year from today members of our class will be together in Nashville. I look forward to reconnecting with friends that I have not seen in decades. I envision 2 days of familiar smiles, shared memories, life stories, and warm hugs. I hope that we can find a way to use this website to reconnect with those who cannot attend.

Taking a Moment...

Fifty years ago, we were preparing to graduate from Hillsboro. We were looking forward to our next steps- in a time of uncertainty, not knowing what our futures would hold. Now, today, unexpectedly, all of us - including a new Hillsboro graduating class, 50 years younger than us, faces an unprecedented time of uncertainty. We are all trying to figure out what it means to wrestle with the new challenges presented by a global pandemic.

Your 50th Class Reunion Committee wants you to know that, as we continue planning a truly special reunion gathering, our top priority is the health and safety of our classmates! And we will schedule (or reschedule) our reunion for a time that is considered to be safe for all concerned.

We are hard at work right now searching for lost classmates, managing our website, and planning a memorable reunion weekend. And the more we work, the more excited we become about seeing everyone again, whenever that may safely be! We want you to be a part of this process. Check out the website links. Reconnect with old friends! Volunteer! Help us find lost classmates!

SEE BELOW FOR OUR VERY SPECIAL REUNION PLANS. It’s time to get your registrations in!! (Click the “psychedelic link“ to the registration site.) June 9 is the deadline for the Early Bird lower rate. (And your timely registration truly helps us in our planning. Thanks!)

All of us sincerely hope that we will connect in person in Nashville in October. But if we have to reschedule we will, with your choice of fees reimbursed or kept on account for a later date. Meanwhile, let’s stay healthy, and enjoy the mechanisms we have to reconnect with each other over the coming months!

Wishing you all the best,
Your Reunion Committee

Remember your special song and those "golden oldie" songs that we loved to sing as we danced the night away? On Friday night, October 2, from 6:30 until ?, join us at Nashville's Richland Country Club, where we will be delighted to have DJ Dan Buckley from the "Lightning 100" radio station help us step back in time.  An awesome night has been planned for renewing friendships, walking down memory lane, and realizing how golden our friendships were and are.  Don't be late for this very important special date as we enjoy a "meet and greet" cash bar cocktail hour, a sumptuous buffet dinner, a photo session, a memory lane video walk, an opportunity to honor classmates who have passed on before us, and so much more to enhance our special night!

The fun continues the next day. . .

Let's go back to school!   We will all meet Saturday morning, October 3, at Hillsboro,  where significant renovations are now underway. At that time we will enjoy a tour of the areas renovated and open to us, have a group photo made in front, and have a chance to peruse the school store for souvenirs. How different will those hallowed halls look?

Remember the Hillsboro Village area with the now famous Pancake Pantry restaurant?  Also on Saturday, at 12:30 PM we will all gather for lunch at Cabana, a popular Nashville restaurant just behind the Pancake Pantry. This will be a special time for building even more memories!  We will have  exclusive use of the restaurant as we enjoy their delicious taco bar, sides and beverages.  Weather permitting, this will be an indoor/outdoor event, with large vintage garage door-style windows raised to allow warm autumn breezes flowing in - the next best thing to an outdoor picnic. A casual atmosphere, cash bar, and music (including possibly some live music from our own classmates??!!) will fill the venue until 3:30 PM.  Please join us as we continue to enjoy renewing friendships, arrange some other Nashville activities while still in town, say goodbye, and make plans to see more of each other in the future.

The rest of the weekend is yours to enjoy as you like - experiencing Nashville night-life, culture and entertainment, standing in line at Pancake Pantry or Loveless Cafe, or simply hanging out with friends. We will be sending everyone registered a list of lots of possibilities of things to do.

For your convenience, we have reserved a number of hotel room blocks at three Nashville/Brentwood hotels, located near our activity areas. Please note that Nashville hotels book up very fast, so reserving your lodging early is very important!

One very reasonable registration price covers ALL scheduled Reunion events on Friday and Saturday.  The cost of this reunion has been substantially underwritten by a generous donation from one of our classmates.
